| HC stays promotion of Tourist officers | | | JAMMU, APRIL 12 Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru Chief Justice (Acting) of J&K High Court, Jammu wing today in a writ petition challenging the promotion of Tourist officers, issued notice to the state and others with the direction that till next date before the Bench implementation of the impugned order no 130-TSM of 2007 dated April 4, 2007 (promotion of Tourist Officer) shall defer subject to the condition the petitioner serve the respondents through registered and speed posts. This order was passed in a writ petition filed by Jyoti Koul, assistant tourist officer, challenged the promotion of tourist officers in their own pay and grade through Advocate Abhinav Sharma in which it has been submitted that the petitioner was appointed as lady receptionist in the Directorate of Tourism in the year of 1983. The respondents have passed the order impugned No 130-TSM of 2007 dated April 4, 2007 in which the private respondents have been promoted to the post of tourist officers despite the fact that respondent No 4 is not eligible because he does not possess 7 years required service. Though the promotions are in their own pay and grade on In-charge basis despite the fact that the petitioner is eligible possessing more than 12 years of service/ experience as the Assistant tourist officer is more qualified being BSc, LLB and Management Diploma in travel and Tourism, but she was ignored. Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru, Chief Justice (Acting) after hearing Advocate Abhinav Sharma appearing for the petitioner ordered the deferring of the impugned order.
