| HM Commander among 3 militants arrested | | SIM cards, Mobile, RDX, pistol recovered | | Srinagar, April 12 Jammu and Kashmir police and army claimed to have arrested three militants of Hizbul Mujahideen including its Launching Commander from North Kashmir, on Thursday. Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that on specific information, troops of 6-Rashtriya Riffles and Handwara Police laid a joint Naka in Panzgam area and arrested Launching commander of Hizbul Mujahideen Javeed Ahmad Sheikh son of Late Sonaullah Sheikh of Batapora Panzgam. Sources said Javid was arrested during Naka checking between Shaloora and Pachkote on Nalla Khamil during search of a vehicle. One Pistol, one Magazine, six rounds of Pistol, 300 gms- RDX, two Kgs of P.E.K, one RCD, one IED Timer, one Mobile Set and one Identity Card were recovered from his possession. Meanwhile, militants fired upon a Police party of Litter Camp at Astanpora Wahipora near Brick Kiln when they were on routine patrolling. However, no loss of life or injury to anyone was reported so far. The Area has been cordoned off and a search operation was launched to nab the militants. Sources said that troops of 55-RR, 166 Bn. CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police arrested two upper ground militants during a search operation in Pulwama area of South Kashmir. They have been identified as Khursheed Ahmad Mir son of Bashir Ahmad and Aijaz Ahmad Para son of Ab. Aziz, residents of Nayera Pulwama from their village. One mobile phone and two mobile SIM cards have been recovered from their possession. “We will investigate the local connections of the militant commander after tracing call made through the recovered SIM cards” a police officer said. A case has been registered in this regard.
