| DDC Jammu Urban expresses concern over neglect of old aged, orphans, widows | | | JAMMU AUG-4- District Congress Committee (DCC) Jammu (Urban) in a meeting held under the chairmanship of its President Om Chopra discussed the problems facing the people of Jammu in respect of sanitation, adulteration, erratic power and water supply. The meeting felt the need for reconstitution of Blocks of districts Jammu Urban and urged upon the Block and Ward committees to complete the requisite process by 20th of this month. The implementation of Wazir Commission recommendations, constitution of Delimitation Commission and the Finance Commission, are some of the notable achievements of the Congress led coalition government headed by the Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, the meeting observed. According to a party handout, the meeting expressed its serious concern over the neglect of old aged, widows, disabled and orphans and sought immediate attention of the administration towards their problems. The meeting felt that despite sincere efforts of the Chief Minister to wipe out corruption from the administration, it was still continuing and need was to root it out with a heavy hand.To redress grievances of the people, the DDC has constituted three groups which would go into the problems of the people and bring these to the notice of the government for immediate redressal.Those who attended the meeting included D S Langeh, B B Gupta, Inder Sehgal, Kirtan Singh, M S Bahu, Nazir Ahmed, J L Koul, Keshav Nand, Yash Pal Jain, Ashok Gupta, Padmini Langeh , Kiran Bala and Shanti Vaid.
