Shiv Sena demands CBI probe into selection of Assistant Architects
8/4/2006 11:07:05 PM
Jammu, Aug-4-
Criticizing State Public Service Commission for its double standards, the Shiv Sena (Thakrey group) has demanded a CBI probe into what it called the ‘infamous selection’ of Assistant Architects.
The Sena in a meeting held under the chairman of its senior leader Rakesh Gupta has lambasted PSC for adopting double standards while fixing the short listing criteria and alleged different treatment was given to different candidates.
In a hand out, it said that for some candidates the percentage of aggregate in degree in Architecture was considered while for the blue eyed candidates the percentage of the final year examination/thesis was considered. It has appealed the Government not to give effect to the recommendations of the PSC till the matter is got duly investigated by the premier investigating agency of the country.
Avinash Bhatia former UP Sampark Parmukh, who also attended the meeting, pointed out glaring irregularities in the selection process and referred the case of one Imtiaz Ahmed Chiloo, who is said to have produced forged documents before the PSC, in order to facilitate his selection. He regretted that without verifying genuineness of his documents, the PSC recommended his appointment to the Government.
Those who attended the meeting and demanded probe into the alleged irregular appointments included Sanjay Mahey Corporator, Yash Gupta, Raj Kumar Grover, Rajinder Gupta, Vipan Hindu, Hardev Sharma, Ashwani Gandotra, Sanjeev Kohli, Rajesh Chander, Amit Chowhan and Ajay Khauria.
