| Govt schools in Rajouri district san adequate teaching staff | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, May 8: Notwithstandig the rehtoric of Government to provide best education fecilities, most of the government schools in Rajouri district are without adequate teaching staff. Bhatera High school in Kalakot tehsil is one of such examples which is being run without a headmaster and by only four teachers, including two master grades, for the last many months. Inhabitants of the village alleged that out of sanctioned strength of 17 teachers 13 posts are lying vacant and about 225 students finding it very hard to continue their routine studies in the school as most of the periods remain vacant due to non -availability of teachers. Subhash Chand, Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) when contacted said that the department has been making every efforts to provide required staff in the government schools but the shortage of teachers/masters has been hampering the process, However, he added that the appointment of a new headmaster has been made but due to code of conduct he can't join his duties. On the other Amar Nath ,sarpanch of the village said that the posts of science and mathematics teachers have been lying vacant for the last many months and many parents have been demanding school leaving certificates to admit their wards in other schools. "I have approached many such parents and requested them to wait for some more time so that we can approach the Director of School Education and Chief Education Officer, Rajouri to provide the requisite staff in the school" said Amar Nath. He added that most of the parents in the area are poor people and have been engaged in labor work . They want that their children must get education in government schools as these people can't afford the education of their wards in expensive private schools. |
