KISHTWAR, May 8: A day after protest was called off by the agitating youths of Kishtwar over poor condition of city roads, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kishtwar Mohammad Javed Khan today held an extensive tour of main market of Kishtwar town upto Malipeth area and took stock of the problems being faced by the people. He was accompanied by ADDC, ACR, ASP, E.O. Municipal Committee Kishtwar, X En R&B, X En PDD, X En PHE, AD CA&PD, Food Safety Officer ,OC GREF and other officers of the district. Inspecting the main road, DC Kishtwar directed the GREF authorities to immediately take up the widening process as due to manifold increase of traffic on the road, the problem of traffic jams erupts frequently. He also asked the municipal authorities to remove the encroachments on the road and also improve the drainage cleaning process. The XEn PDD was directed to replace the electric poles that come across the widening of the road. Both R&B and GREF was also directed to immediately repair the roads. He also inspected some shops in the market, checked their licenses and took stock of the hygiene of the edible items, fruits and vegetables. The Food Safety Officer was directed to keep close watch on food items and medicines so that the health issues of the people may not be compromised. XEn PHE was asked to ensure regular water supply in the town. DC Kishtwar also spoke to the common people there and listened to their grievances. He instructed to the officers present to take necessary steps for mitigating the problems of the people. |
