| Genpact, Skills Academy conduct placement drive at GGM Science College | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 8: GGM Science College, Jammu, in collaboration with project "UDAAN" organized a placement drive for placement of students in GENPACT, a global leader in business process and technology management services. It is pertinent to mention here that project "UDAAN" is a special industry initiative undertaken by the National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) and Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, and has been initiated in order to bring about a positive change in the employment and skills space of J&K. UDAAN targets the youth of J&K, specifically graduates and post graduates. The placement drive was carried out by the officials of the "Skills Academy" that has partnered with GENPACT and was facilitated by Career Counselling and Placement Cell of the G.G.M. Science College, Jammu. Skills Academy is a vocational training organization started by Pramod Bhasin and Pia Singh. In its last endeavor with UDAAN, Skills Academy recruited about 40+ students from J&K and the recruits have been placed with Genpact and other organizations with a salary range of 1.8-3.3 lacs P.A. The drive comprised of Pre-Assesment and Orientation followed by a short interview, thereby leading to the short listing of the students. The company is supposed to offer to the selectees, the requisite training in Finance and Accounting encompassing Fundamentals of F&A, F&A Operations, Financial Statements and Reporting, in what is considered as a rigorous schedule of 4 months. The students, having undergone the training, would be offered the role of Associate and may have to work at any of the locations on offer viz., Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Bangalore and Kolkata. |
