| Alumni Mentorship Programme launched at MIET | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 8: MIET today launched its Global Alumni Mentorship programme under which distinguished alumni from across the world shall mentor current students at MIET. The programme was aimed at raising the aspiration and achievement levels of the current studentsat MIET. As part of the pilot programme 16 alumni from diverse geographical locations such as Singapore, USA, UK, Middle East and India have formed a core group to advise students on a host of issues to help them achieve more and be better prepared for corporate careers in time to come. A group of 30 current students from across departments and semesters have been chosen to receive individualized coaching from the mentors. The programme was launched through a Google Hangout group video-conferencing session in which the mentors, mentees and senior MIET functionaries participated. The alumni thanked the institute for taking this initiative in connecting with them and reminisced fondly about the time spent at MIET. Principal MIET, Prof. S.K Sharma welcomed the Alumni and described the programme as a historic milestone for MIET. Prof. Ankur Gupta, Joint Director, MIET exhorted on the students to seek maximum benefit from the experience and expertise of the mentors and aspire towards building international careers. |
