| Two hardcore LeT militants eliminated, four manage to escape | | | DODA, Apr 16 Two hardcore militants of Lashker-e-Tobia (LeT), including a Pak national, were shot dead in a fierce gun battle with security forces at upper reaches of Dandi area of Bhadarwah Tehsil in District-Doda, on Sunday while four others managed to escape.. On a specific information about the presence of militants in the area, Bhadarwah Police, troops of 4RR and 78Bn CRPF launched a joint operation at Sherakhi , Qilla Mohalla , Chakka and upper reaches of Dandi area of Bhadarwah and gunned down two militants in a fierce gun encounter lasting for over two hours. The slain militants have been identified as Fayaz Ahmad Mir alias Abu Zaid, son of John Muhammad Mir, resident of Sarna Bhadarwah, district Area Commander and Abu Hamza resident of Billawar, Pakistan. However, four militants managed to escape in nearby forest area. A CRPF Head Constable L. Marandi of 78 Bn posted at Chota Kashmir Post Bhadarwah, who was also injured in the gun battle was immediately shifted to SDH Bhadarwah. According to 2IC 4RR Anuj Rawat, Lashker-e-Tobia is active since 2001 in the area.
