srinagar, May 8: Army on Thursday claimed to have recovered cache of arms and ammunition from Rajwar forests in North Kashmir's Kupwara district close to the Line of Control that divides the region between India and Pakistan. A senior army official said troopers from 31 Rashtriya Rifles launched massive searches following intelligence inputs about the movement of suspected militants inside the Haphruda forests in Handwara. "During the searches a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the forests which include 3 Pistols with 6 magazines and 10 rounds, 12 Chinese grenades, 3 RPG rounds, 2 Mortar rounds, 5 Explosive rods, 2 compasses and other essential items," the official said. |
