Poonch, May 10: For many including family members and students at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) it is 'shocking and unbelievable' to grapple the news of sad demise of young technocrat Haroon Rashid who drowned in a nallah in a tragic mishap at Androla village, about 15 kms from here on Wednesday.
As the news of the drowning incident spread, relatives and friends rushed to the house of Registrar BGSBU Rajouri in the university campus. His parents have been weeping continuously and none seems to know how to console them. Friends and his kin still remember late soul for his vitality and energy and always standing there whenever they feel his need. Counting on each and every moment from their cherished memories, Haroon's friends remember him technically sound and very energetic.
A friend of Haroon, could not control his emotions when asked about the tragic incident. "He used to occasionally play and enjoy games including soft ball cricket in the campus with students and I can't believe he is no more," he said in a choked voice. His other friends also recalled that was interested in computers and music. “He was also seen keen in modelling, he said.
"Most of the time he would be glued to the computer. He was a role model for his fellows as he was studious and always helping," said his majority of friends, adding, " We miss him badly".
"I could never imagine that it was a final goodbye for us," his uncle recalls the moment when Haroon was just to ride in his car for his picnic, while fighting back tears.
For the shattered father BGSBU Registrar Rashid Chowdhary for whom the sky has fallen while recollecting himself briefly recalls that Haroon was aspiring to crack Indian Civil Services (ICS) to become an IAS Officer. "Being different as he was, Haroon always dreams to help the down trodden and he believes without authority he will fail to do some constructive things for the poor masses so he was aiming to go for Civil Services after compelting his B.Tech, he says.
Haroon believes if one has determination and is willing work hard, he can crack any riddle of life, he adds with a gasp for breath to 'believe the unbelievable (death of his son)' and says, "he was always a keen and studious from his childhood and stands by with his words.'
