Early Times Report JAMMU, May 10: Riding on Modi Wave, the over-confident BJP has decided to start preparation for Assembly elections from the last week of May. The party, this time, would formulate a strategy to emerge as king maker or to be part of the government. Credible sources in BJP said that party's strategy would be decided on the basis of the performance of the Parliamentary elections. Strategists in the BJP believed that party would get lead in as many as 25 assembly segments, out of total 37 in Jammu province-comprised of two Lok Sabha seats. Similarly party is hopeful of getting lead in two Assembly segments of Ladakh so party's concentration would be on 27 assembly seats of Jammu and Ladakh regions and two seats of Kashmir Valley. Party has identified two assembly segments of Srinagar where BJP can win the elections provided all Kashmiri Pandit migrants cast their votes in bulk. Strategists in BJP has formulated a strategy that party is in a position to win 29 seats comfortable but there is a need to formulate a comprehensive strategy. BJP leadership is the of the opinion that there is a need that party should be part of the government so that nationalists agenda should be further implemented in Jammu and Kashmir. Credible sources in the BJP said that a group within the party is of the opinion that instead of contesting elections alone, the party should enter into an alliance with Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP). This group argued that alliance with JKNPP would help in playing regional card in Jammu region and also to rope in a section of Gujjars and Paharies. This is group has suggested that party should leave atleast a dozen seats for JKNPP including Ramnagar, Udhampur, Samba, Chenani, Mahore, Gool-Arnas, Banihal, Mendhar, etc. |
