Jammu | April 17 Fire and Emergency Services in connection with Fire Service Week today organized an essay competition on the topic ‘Fire prevention is better than cure’. Five reputed schools of Jammu city participated in the competition. Director General, Fire and Emergency Services, J&K, G.A. Bhat was the chief guest on this occasion. Sonia from Govt. Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar won the first prize, Rajni Sharma of New Era Environmental School, Jullaka Mohalla, won the 2nd Prize while Mehak Jain of New Era Environmental School, Jullaka Mohalla, bagged 3rd prize, while as Shivam of Tiny Tots School Trikuta Nagar and Pooja from Govt. Girls High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu bagged consolation prizes. All the participants received a certificate and cash reward each. GA Bhat, while speaking on this occasion applauded the role of children for their active participation in the programme and stressed upon the people to be more vigilant regarding fire safety measures.
