| Shiv Dev conducts extensive tour of Dansal Block | | | Jammu April -17 Former MLA and General Secretary, Pradesh Congress Committee, Thakur Shiv Dev Singh has said that the Congress led government in the state has taken radical steps by way of implementing the major commitments made in the election manifesto of the party and the Common Minimum Program. Addressing series of meetings at Manwal, Kathar, Maneh, Kishnpur, Kharta, Gorga and Dansal during his two days extensive tour of the area , Shiv Dev said that the party has successfully fulfilled all the promises made during 2002 Assembly elections and even did more than it promised. This has become possible with the full backing of UPA Government at the Centre and the foresightedness of Chief Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, he added. He said with the liberal funding from the Centre, the pace of development in the state has been accelerated with thrust on rural areas as a result various long pending demands of the people regarding water, power, road net work, up gradation of educational and health institutions were met. Expressing concern over shortage of drinking water in Dansal block, the Congress leader stressed upon the PHE authorities to press into service sufficient water tankers to overcome the difficulty of drinking water in the area. He also demanded improvement of Manwal-Kathar road via Payamu, besides a Primary health centre at Manwal. BCC President Dansal, Ram Rattan Sharma and Vice President Thakur Romal Singh accompanied the PCC General Secretary during the tour.
