| DSEK pays surprise visit to CEO, ZEO Srinagar | | Orders action against erring officials | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, May 17: In a surprise visit to Chief Education Office (CEO) Srinagar and Zonal Education Office (CEO) Srinagar, Director School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Mir Tariq Ali ordered action under rules against 7 officials. According to sources, during his visit to CEO Srinagar the functioning of the CEO office was not upto expectations of DSEK and thereby he ordered action as warranted under rules against 5 officials of CEO office. While visiting the ZEO office Srinagar, DSEK was disappointed with the functioning of the Zonal Education Office Srinagar and as such ordered action under rules against two officials of the Zonal office. Among other schools he also visited Middle School Kothibagh and instructed the Headmaster to take various steps for the benefits of the students, the spokesman said. "In order to make the accountability more effective Joint Director Schools on the instructions of Director conducted surprise inspection of various schools of Srinagar and Anantnag including Middle School Pantha Chowk, High School Pantha Chowk, Middle School Bijbehara, High School Bijbehara and Zonal Education office Bijbehara. Joint Director has initiated action under rules against two officials of ZEO office Bijbehara for dereliction of duties," he said. "This is in continuation of inspections of schools and offices to make them more accountable and functional. Director, Mir Tariq Ali has called upon teachers to discharge their duties with honestly and dedication so that the academic environment in the schools is brought up to the higher levels of excellence," said spokesman of DSEK. |
