One yr RI awarded to accused in sexual abuse case 5/17/2014 11:50:10 PM Early Times Report Jammu, May 17 : Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Sanjeev Gupta today awarded one year Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) to one Kuldeep Singh who was facing trial in outraging modesty of the girl. After hearing both the sides, Presiding Officer Fast Track Court Sanjeev Gupta observed that protection of society and deterring the criminal is avowed object of law and that is required to be achieved by imposing an appropriate sentence and further observed that it is the duty of the court to hear the cry for justice by society in case of sexual molestation. With these observations Court awarded one year rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to one Kuldeep Singh. According to the police case that on March 12, 2012 prosecutirx from village Makhanpur lodged a written report to P/S Bishnah alleging that on that day at 9:00 AM she had gone out to fields away from village, in the meanwhile, accused started chasing her and caught hold of her and started misbehaving with her.
