| Protest against water scarcity held | | | Jammu April 19 National Conference (Urban) staged a protest demonstration against the scarcity of drinking water in some areas of the Jammu city. The protestors raised anti-authorities slogans and also broke the earthen pots on the occasion. Chander Mohan Sharma district president National Conference (urban) led the protest rally to the Office of the Chief Engineer PHE at BC Road. Sharma in his address highlighted the problems of people and said it has become difficult for them to survive with the acute shortage of water. He demanded to maintain smooth supply of drinking water in these localities. He also asked the people to strengthen the hands of the patron and president of the party. He exhorted the people to fan in their respective areas and spread the party ideology and message. Amidst the sloganeering protestors submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer PHE Jammu who after listening to the problems of the people assured for taking necessary measures to redress their problem. The residents from Mohalla Ustad, Lower Roop Nagar, Bakshi Nagar and its adjoining areas, Housing Colony Janipur, Chowadi, Bhathindi and Paloura participated in this protest dharna.
