| Prem Sagar chairs Select Committee meeting | | |

A meeting of the Select Committee constituted to look into the amendments to Jammu and Kashmir Constitution was held here today with Minister of State for Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Mr. Prem Sagar Aziz in a chair.
The meeting held threadbare discussion on the 55th Amendment to Jammu and Kashmir Constitution brought by MLA Mr. Harshdev Singh. The Private Member’s Bill No. 16 of 2006 seeks amendment in the Preamble to the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, 1957 and insertion of words socialist and secular into it.
The Members were unanimous on the amendments suggested by the Members and Committee would adopt the report in its next meeting.
Those present in the meeting included, MLAs Mr. Mohammad Sayed Akhoon, Mrs. Khem Lata Wakhloo, Mr. S.D.Shariq, Mr. Zahoor Ahmed Mir, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Mr. Jugal Kishore, Mr. Mohammad Aslam Khan and Secretary Assembly Mr. M. Iqbal Ganai.
