| Charak lays foundation of Piwdi Charkan road | | |
Jammu, April 19
Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak today laid foundation Nandpora Piwdi Charkan Dual Khui road project of Vijaypur block. The project involves at a cost of Rs.77.65 lakh. The work on the road starts from today. The Minister was accompanied by MLA Bishnah Mr. Ashwani Kumar
The road will be completed before 2008 under double shift work system and it would benefit five villages with 10,000 population.
Mr. Charak directed the executive agencies to complete road within the stipulated time so that the people of the area have a sigh of relief which faced lot of problems due to lack of road connectivity to these villages. “It was long pending demand of the people of the area”, he said. He said the dream of great social workers have been now fulfilled.
Referring the other demands of this border area, Mr. Charak assured the people that every steps would be taken to redress the grievances at the earliest. He said that government is committed to provide better road connectivity to all the parts of the state particularly in far-off areas. He said by the efforts of Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Centre has approved a massive road connectivity programme for the J&K in which all the habitations having 500 population would be connected with main roads.
He asked the people for their cooperation for realizing the dream of khushal J&K by their involvement in all sectors of development. He said people’s participation is necessary for making the state prosperous.
