| PDP hails Forest Minister’s swift action | | | JAMMU, April 19 Expressing gratitude to the Forest Minister Qazi Mohammed Afzal for his swift action in reopening the timber Depot at Hiranagar, the Peoples’ Democratic Party has expressed the hope that two more depots, as announced by the Minister, would be opened shortly at Rajpura and Chadwal in Kathua district. A PDP delegation from Kathua led by Gurparshad Verma, District President, Kathua, accompanied by Zonal President Dhrub Singh and Secretary Vinod Gupta had recently called on the Minister and apprised him about the closure of the timber sale depot at Hiranagar and the problems facing the people on account of non availability of timber and firewood. Acting swiftly, the Minister made a surprise visit to the area and ordered immediate reopening of the depot, besides ordering two more such depots one each at Rajpura and Chadwal. The deputation has appreciated the Minister’s swift action in ensuring reopening of the closed depot.
