| Environment team visits Surinsar Lake | | | Jammu | Apr 19 To save the wetland bodies from vanishing an to create awareness among the masses for its preservation a newly floated Non Governmental organization (NGO) ‘Environmental conservation society’ visited Surinsar village of district Jammu. During the visit team inspected the lake- Surinsar and interact with the people of the area. The team at Surinsar teaches the masses of the village about the preservation and importance of this water body. During the meet experts Prof. B.L. Bhan and Dr. Haish Chander Dutt delivered the lecture and said that Environmental degradation is a global issues and to preserve it is a challenge for entire globe. The experts said, wetlands which are rapidly shrinking due to official apathy and encroachment is endangering thousands of migratory birds and aquatic animals. Dr. Bhan said, ‘if the slit flow and de-wedding is checked, the life span of wetlands can be enhanced the people about the importance of the water bodies/ among other present on the occasion were Sheela Bhan and R.J.
