Government committed to raise schools infrastructure: Mangat

Srinagar, April 20
Minister for Health and Medical Education Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma has said that education sector which receives special attention of the present government is being strengthened by constructing additional accommodation and creating other requisite infrastructure.
He was speaking at a function after inaugurating newly constructed 2 rooms and Bath room at Government Girls High School Rajpura Mangotrian here today.
Additional two room building was constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 5.98 lakh besides Rs. 2.06 lakh incurred on construction of toilet and septic tank in the school premises.
Mr. Sharma said that in the first phase a number of schools at all levels have been upgraded to next higher status as per demand of the people and now in 2nd phase government has given priority to provide accommodations and other allied infrastructure so that educational institution function properly as per the modern need. He said for this purpose funds have been kept for education sector of district plan to execute construction of additional buildings.
Congratulating students, teachers and parents, Mr. Sharma asked them to give special attention towards imparting modern and scientific education to the children and prepare them to compete in the fast emerging era of science and technology. He advised the students not to indulge in bad habits and concentrate on their studies to excel in the academic field and become good citizens of tomorrow.
Minister also issued directions to the Road and Building authorities to undertake immediate repair of the existing building and also assured construction of 2 additional rooms in school.
Prominent among those who attended the function were Pt. Kesho Ram, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Mr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. Kewal Krishan Jogi all senior congress leaders and corporators besides large number of schools children, teachers and parents.
