Jammu, June 6: Presiding officer Fast Track Court Jammu Sanjeev Gupta today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Manzoor Ahmed s/o Nazir Ahmed r/o Batera Dhami Nagrota who was facing trial in a rape case. According to the police case , on March 8, 2011 prosecutrix lodged a written report to the police station Nagrota with the allegations that on March 7, 2011, she had gone to her field for cutting grass at about 1:30 Pm, accused Manzoor Ahmed suddenly came on spot and forcibly caught hold of her and thereafter committed rape with her against her will and she raised an alarm which attracted her sisters to the pot and on seeing them accused fled away. On said report, FIR was registered against the accused u/s 376 RPC and after completion of investigation final report was submitted before the Court. After hearing APP GS Charak for the state whereas Advocate Rupak Ratta for the accused persons, Sanjeev Gupta Presiding officer Fast Track Court awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs 10,000 to Manzoor Ahmed u/s 376 RPC and court further observed that in case fine amount if realized from the convict, then same shall be paid to victim as compensation who had suffered due to act of the convict.
