RAJOURI, June 6: Bride-groom was among many relatives and family members who were thrashed by each other in a physical scuffle that took place during 'Mehandi ceremony' in the late evening hours on Thursday in ward No 4 of Rajouri city. Four member of a family of a close relative of a bride-groom have been booked by the Rajouri police for creating nuisance after consuming wine on Thursday on the occasion of 'Mehandi Raat' in Jawahar Nagar area. Police said the Raj Kumar and his son have been arrested while his wife Nirmla and nephew Ankush Kumar are at large and the entire have been booked under sections 323/341 RPC under FIR 286/14 on the complaint of bride-groom and his family members. Sources said that the barat of one Netar Parkash of ward No 4 was scheduled for Friday and the family was celebrating the marriage rituals on Thursday night including 'Mehandi ceremony'. Some of the relatives reportedly were under the influence of liquor and on a minor issue a dispute erupted between the bride-groom's family and family of Raj Kumar, a close relative of Netar Parkash. The dispute later took ugly turn and turned into physical scuffle involving many relatives and family members of bride-groom. In the physical scuffle one Shiv Kumar also received minor injuries and was treated in the hospital. Timely intervention by the elders save the situation getting worse and a complaint was lodged by the bride-groom and his family members against Raj Kumar and his family members. |
