Bid to smuggle bovines foiled, 2 arrested

A bid to smuggle bovines to the neighbouring state of Punjab was foiled with the arrest of two bovine smugglers and recovery of 12 bovines from a truck at Samba this afternoon.
According to reports, Samba police during a routine naka intercepted a Punjab bound truck bearing regn no JK02B-1475 and asked for documents. But, when the driver failed to produce the documents, the truck was subjected to frisking, during which Police recovered 12 bovines.
The truck driver along with one person was immediately arrested and they have been identified as Mulk Raj, driver of the vehicle and Lal Din. Meanwhile, a case in this regard has been registered in Police Station Samba.
