JAMMU, June 6: Second batch of Tawi Trekkers, comprising 40 students and two teachers of Shangrilla Public School, Sarwal, here, left today for Moungri to participate in the ongoing J&K Himalayan Trekking Programme. The group was flagged off by Principal of Shangrilla Public School, Surestha Khajuria in the presence of general secretary of Tawi Trekkers, Ram Khajuria. A trained mountaineer, Mrigank Kaushal is the group leader who shall be assisted by school teachers, Tajinder Singh and Bittu Sharma. The adventure programme being conducted in the sylvan surroundings of beautiful Moungri village, about 50 kilometers from Udhampur, has the support of J&K State Sports Council, Mountaineering Association of J&K, Directorate of Tourism, Jammu, Ibex Adventure Club, Samba and Snow Trail Mountaineers, Jammu. Meanwhile, the first batch of Dharmshalla Trekking Programme comprising of students of Shiksha Niketan Gandhi Nagar and Jeevan Nagar shall leave for Dharamshala, tomorrow. |
