| JU scholars term VC’s statement baseless | | | Jammu | Apr 20 The scholars and students of Jammu University (JU) today termed the Vice Chancellor’s statement to the media, in which he alleged involvement of some vested interest in the recent agitation by the students as immature and baseless. They refuted his statement and called it as an unfortunate incident. Meanwhile, both students and scholars have threatened to submit mass resignations in case there demands would not be conceded. Addressing a press conference, Sandeep Sandy, whose suspension was revoked by University yesterday, said that it is shocking that Prof Mattoo has ridiculed the genuine concerns and demands of the students and scholars in the campus by focusing on irrelevant and baseless issues. He also condemned JU authorities for harassing and suppressing the students and scholars through different means and ways through the hands of teachers and respective guides. Meanwhile, students also threatened to submit their mass resignations on the pattern of the Mathematics Department in support of their demands. Mathematics department students and scholars today submitted their resignations to highlight their demands in more vociferous manner.
