JAMMU, June 6 : Vice Chancellor Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences & Technology, Jammu (SKUAST-J), Dr Pradeep Kumar Sharma visited Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Rajouri and Regional Agriculture Research Station, Rajouri for reviewing the ongoing programmes and also to give impetus to KVK activities for the betterment of farming community. Dr Sharma, an eminent scientist himself critically analyses the research programme of the center and directed the authorities to focus on local problems. He appreciated the activities of KVK, Rajouri and had detailed interactions with the staff. He emphasized that KVK must have outreach to distant farmers and also have its own visibility. He stressed on seed production for the intermediate hills that are well suited to local agro climatic conditions. Dr Vikas Tandon Programme Coordinator of KVK, Rajouri gave detailed presentation on KVK activities in the district. Vice Chancellor also chaired the meeting of district officers of the line department where he discussed the launching of National Mission on Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) in Budhal block. |
