| RTC without participation of POK displaced persons is useless: Sharma | | | Jammu | Apr 20 Reacting over the holding of Third Roundtable Conference at Delhi on 24th of this month, the secretary general of the state Samajwadi party, Ram Prakash Sharma, who is also heading the Sharnarthi wing of the party and general secretary, S. Iqbal Singh Iqbal have expressed exception over the convening of talks at Delhi without any adequate ground work. According to a handout, leaders said that the fate of Pakistan occupied Kashmir displaced persons (POK DPs), who suffered enormously and came to this side in the wake of 1947 disturbances, after leaving their hearth and homes behind, continues to hang in balance. It is rather ridiculous, that while both the Centre and State Govts. have constituted five working groups and is holding talks with them to seek permanent and lasting solution of Kashmir imbroglio, the hapless POK DPs community which is an inseparable party to the Kashmir issue and has played important role in defending the orders of the country, in general and J&K State, in particular, has not been taken into confidence, they complained. Both Sharma and Iqbal further declared that without involving the POK DPs representatives in the RTC talks, the forthcoming talks cannot have effective results. They have demanded constitution of one more Working Group exclusively for all refugees including POK DPs, in case both Centre and State Governments are interested to redress their problems once all.
