| Provincial teachers exhorted to participate in May Day rally | | | Jammu, Apr 20 Provincial Teachers Association has appealed to the teachers belonging to all cadres of the Jammu province to participate in the May Day Rally and procession being organized by All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation headed by Abdul Majid Khan on 28th April in Jammu city to pay tributes to the may Day Martyrs. Giani Avtar Singh, president and Kabla Singh General Secretary of the association, said that association would lay stress upon the state government to address and redress the outstanding grievances and demands of State government employees like release of 6 % D.A installment from January 2007, grant of interim relief @ Rs. 1000/- per month pending finalization and implementation of the recommendation of 6th Central Pay Commission, raising retirement age to 60 years and monthly medical allowance to Rs. 600/- etc. They further said that the speakers will also high light outstanding problems like extension of Cash in lieu in respect of teachers, strict adherence of transfer norms to bring transparency in this regard, enhancement of remuneration of Rehber-e-taleem teachers commensurate with rise in the price index and their regularization on teachers posts, conversion of education volunteers of V.E.Cs as Rehber-e-taleem teachers.
