| AD Tourism, BDO for Kargil to be created soon: Mangat | | | Jammu, April 20
–Minister for Health, Medical Education and Ladakh Affairs Mr. Mangat Ram Sharma today reviewed progress of pending issues of Kargil district at a high level meeting here today.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali, Principal Secretary, Planning and Development and Ladakh Affairs Mr. S. S. Kapur, Commissioner/Secretary PHE Mr. Mehboob Iqbal and Secretary Health & Medical Education Mr. K. B. Jandial.
Creation of posts in various departments and issues pending in respect of Health & PHE departments came up for discussion in the meeting.
Principal Secretary Planning informed the meeting that the proposal for creation of posts of Assistant Director Tourism and Block Medical Officer for Kargil has been cleared by the Joint Clearance Committee, adding the post of ARTO Kargil alongwith supporting staff stands already created.
Regarding raising of chest capacity of J&K Bank and the opening of bank branch at Kargil, Mr. Sharma asked the concerned to follow up the matter vigorously.
The problem of shortage of Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) and Nurses in Kargil district as a whole and the need for exploring the avenues of imparting training locally and outside the district in various institutions were also discussed. Secretary Health and Medical Education was emphasized for examining all the issues in this regard.
In the meeting, shortage of staff in PHE department and procurement of drilling rigs for Kargil were also discussed and the department was asked to submit a proposal for creation of staff.
