| No respite from heat wave, temp touches 43 degree Celsius | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 15: There is no respite from intense heat wave for the people of Jammu in days ahead as the mercury touched the mark of 43 degree Celsius today leaving people swelter and most them preferred to stay indoors during the day time to protect themselves from the scorching heat. As per MeT official, "The maximum temperature was today recorded 43 Degree Celsius and minimum and the humidity was also experienced. Due to prevailing hot conditions the most of the vehicles today remained off road and the city roads wore deserted look. The schools have already been closed for summer vacations from June 6. People travelling on two-wheeler were seen covering face while the pedestrians carried umbrellas to protect themselves from the direct sunlight. Commuters were seen turning to the roadside vendors selling sugarcane juice, ice candies and lemon water to beat the heat. With the beginning of summer vacations, the famous Ranbir Canal witnessed huge rush of people enjoying swimming and spending some time with families in the park under the shades of the trees. Today being Sunday famous garden Bag-e-Bahu remained occupied in the evening. These days most the areas of Jammu are being witnessed 8 hours power cuts. |
