Kishtwar, June 16: Security forces in a joint search operation today busted a militant hideout and effected recovery of huge cache of arms and ammunition and RDX from Chatroo of Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Acting on a tip off, a Joint team of Kishtwar Police and 11 RR carried out a search operation in Bonda forests of Chatroo area some 35 KM from Kishtwar and achieved success by effecting recovery of RDX, Hand Grenades besides huge arms and ammunition from this hideout," Police spokesperson said.
He said, "The recoveries effected from the hideout included 01-RPG Rifle, 01-Pika Gun, 01-.303 Rifle, 01-.315 Rifle, 01-12 Bore Rifle, 02 Pistols , 493 Ammunition of AK, Pika, Pistol, 01- RPG round, 04-UBGL Grenades, 08-AK magazines, 01-Pistol Magazine, 06-Hand Grenades, 07-detonators, 01-Barrel Pistol and 01-Radio Set and 3kgs of kilogram RDX, .
''The busting of the hideout has succeeded in derailing the nefarious designs of the militants and their supporters,'' he said and added that concerned police have register a case FIR No.42/2014 U/S 7/25/27 I. Arms Act and 4/5 Explosive Substance Act at Police Station Chatroo and set investigation is on. |
