| Students, locals protest against shortage of staff at School | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, June 16: The students of Government Higher Secondary School Pancheri and villagers of Pancheri protested against shortage of staff and absence of boundary walls in the school, sources said. Amid sloganeering the students and villagers alleged that authorities have failed to depute the adequate staff at the above mentioned school taking toll of the academics of students. They also alleged that the school without boundary wall is also posing threat to security of students. "The students were facing innumerable problems in getting their syllabus completed due to staff shortage, said Baldev Singh Sarpanch. He also alleged that there is no proper sitting arrangement in the school. When contacted, Pawan Singh Salathia the ZEO of Pancheri told that the zone has a total of 176 Schools,110 primary Schools, 54 Middle Schools, 8 High Schools and 4 Higher Secondary Schools. "The required staff strength is 582 whereas there are only 362 teachers presently available, 143 of whom are temporary ReTs, 152 are regular ReTs and 67 are General teachers, he said. The District Development Commissioner Mrs Yasha Mudgal said that many schools in the district are suffering with the problem of boundary walls. Mrs Mudgal said that she has taken up the matter of boundary walls of different schools in zone with Director School Education. |
