Sikh Leaders Urge Azad Not to ignore voice of Refugees in RTC

Expressing concern over non-inclusion of refugees of Pakistan occupied Kashmir settled here in Jammu leaders of various Sikh organizations in the state on Saturday urged Chief Minister GhulamNabi Azad not to ignore their voice and intervene to accomodate their viewpoint in the third round table conference.
We are not happy with over the way the Government of India has not invited any leaders of refugees of Pakistan occupied Kashmir,now settled in Jammu,to the third roundtable conference being held in Delhi on April 24, the leaders said.
Later a resolution was also adopted at a meeting which was presided over by Mr Mohinder Singh,chief organizer Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society,Sikh leaders.The Sikh leaders urged Chief Minister,Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad,to intervene so that representatives of refugees from Pakistan occupied Kashmir were invited to the conference.
The resolution said “since we too are connected with the Kashmir issue our participation in any dialogue is important and necessary.””I do not think the roundtable conference will achieve anything without the participation of POK refugees,”said Mr Mohinder Singh.
The meeting,which was also attended by Mr Narbir Singh,President Shiromani Youth Akali Dal,Mr Paramjit Singh,President AISSFMr Balbir Singh,general secretary state Akali Dal,Mr Gajan Singh,Chairman Sikh Sangat and Mr Manmohan Singh,chairman Gole Gujral,while expressing resentment over inordinate delay on the part of the state and the central Governments in settling their claims and in taking in hand for suitable rehabilitation demanded that the report on the refugees presented by the N.N.Vohra committee be implemented.
The Sikh leaders appreciated the work having done by Mr N.N.Vohra in completing a detailed report on “our problems.”
They also demanded that the verdict of the state High Court and the Supreme court on the resettlement of the refugees be implemented soon.
