Karra exhorts media to project development aspects of state

Jammu, April 21
Minister for Finance and Planning Tariq Hamid Karra has emphasized upon the media fraternity to project the positive picture of the state in right perspective so that the rich cultural ethos and economic development is reflected for general public. He said that media’ the 4th pillar of democracy should avoid negative aspect of journalism which besides creating confusion helps the divisive forces of the state.
He was addressing a media persons and members of trading community at a launching function of “ The Political and Business Daily” a complete daily newspaper published from New Delhi, with special focus on North, here today.
Mr. Karra said that although there is no dearth of newspapers in the state but the need of the hour is to showcase indepth developmental scenario instead of negative stories in a qualitative manner, adding that in modern times people see the conteHe called upon them to be the Ambassadors of peace and development of the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Road and Building Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak said that the launch of this paper will help to highlight every aspects of life of people before the nation.
President of Chamber and Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ram Sahai congratulated the management body of the newspaper for including state political and business matters in its publication. He said the time is ripe when the exchange of goods between the divided parts of the state should start to boost the economy of the state.
Earlier, owner and promoter of the newspaper Mr. Puneet Nanda gave the brief details about circulation of the newspaper in different states of the country including Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab etc. He said lot of space has been dedicated for the coverage of political and business issues in it. He said the paper would publish J&K affairs especially business matters once in a week to promote the development of the state.
MLA, Jammu East, Mr. Yogash Sawhney was also present. Mr. Ajat Jamwal presented vote of thanks.
