| Police files FIR against Geelani, supporters for pro-Pak slogans | | | Srinagar, Apr 22 Police today filed an FIR against the chairman of Hurriyat conference (G), Syed Ali Shah Geelani and few of his supporters for raising pro-Pak and anit-national slogans during a rally organised by amalgam to welcome him. A police spokesman in a statement here said “in the light of the anti-national slogans raised at the at Eidgah rally, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Safakadal.” “FIR bearing registration number 70/07, under section 13 of Unlawful Activities Act has been lodged at Police Station Safakadal against Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Ashraf Sehrai, Masarat Alam, Saleem Zargar and Shafi Lone,” the statement said. However, the statement said that there was no display of arms and ammunition in the rally and no flag of any banned militant outfit was spotted during the rally. “But flags of different parties from different areas of the Valley bearing religious writings were carried out,” the statement said. EArlier, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who returned to the Valley after a successful kidney surgery from Delhi on Sunday said, "We will continue with our struggle till last soldier remains in J&K." Geelani who addressed a mammoth gathering at Martyrs grave yard here rejected all the alternative solutions including soft borders, trade across both the Kashmirs and other road maps being put forward. "Martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the sake of freedom and nothing short of Azadi is acceptable to us," the Hurriyat (G) chairman said. On his arrival from Delhi Geelani was accorded a warm welcome as thousands of his supporters had assembled to receive him.
