| POKJ communicates its resentment for not being invited at RTC | | | Jammu April 22 Highlighting the poor plight of the PoK and Jammu Refugees, Professor Virendra Gupta flayed that non-representation of the POKJ in the Round Table Conference. Convener of the association stressed that they are the real sufferer of the Kashmir problems. Addressing a press conference, Professor Virendra Gupta said, “these migrants are suffering for their identity and culture since their displacement.’ He said time to time Indo-Pak conflicts since the 1947 has resulted into huge uprooting/ migration of the people of state in 1965 and 1971. Projecting the problems of the refuges, he said though the hosts of scheduled 3rd RTC has negated the issues of the Refugees but the POKJ has highlighted their issues through its communication to Prime Minister of India and other dignitaries. Giving statistics he said that about 2.5 lakh of population has been uprooted during the Indo-Pak conflicts of 1965 and 1971. Gupta added the memorandum has asked for the case claims of immovable property of about 10,000 families displaced from PoK in 1947, political representation to the refugees by giving atleast eight seats from 24 seats reserved for PoK. Among those who were present in this meeting included Yash Pal Gupta, Raj Kumar Kohli, Yudh Veer Singh, Krishan Lal Gupta and others.
