Court grants police remand of JE in trap case

JAMMU, Jun 25: Principal Sessions Judge Kathua Vinod Chatterji Koul (vacation Sessions Judge Kathua) today granted remand of Mohammad Younis, Junior Engineer PMGSY Division Billawar, till Monday i.e. July 1, 2014.
According to Vigilance Officer (VO) Jammu; Mohammad Younis Junior Engineer PMGSY Division Billawar was caught red-handed by the team of VOJ while accepting Rs 1 lakh as bribe. A case FIR No.20/2014 P/S VOJ was registered on the basis of complaint made by the contractor Shalinder Vaid that Mohammad Younis Junior Engineer PMGSY Division Billawar is demanding Rs 1 lakh as bribe for preparation of pending bills amounting to Rs.15 lakh for work namely construction of road from Ther to Ghat in Billawar, Kathua executed by the complainant.
The total cost of construction of the road was 50 lakh out of which Rs. 35 lakh have already been released to the contractor. (JNF)
