| Duggar Ch Naag Pooja released today | | | Jammu | April 22 In a book release ceremony Prof. Archna Kesar professor and head PG Deptt. Dogri University of Jammu released the book titled as ‘Duggar Ch Naag Pooja’ authored by Dr Khem Raj Sharma. The main emphasis of the book is to project the religious aspects and the traditions of the Dogra culture. Prof Archana Kesar who was chief guest on this occasion appreciated the effort from the author for writing in Dogri language and to elaborate the religious rituals of the far remote areas. She said the book is the outcome of the devotion and relentless efforts to express the traditions of a culture on the paper and that too in their own language. This is indeed a great job done by the author, she said while releasing the said book. Earlier the author Dr Khem Raj Khajuria gave a brief account of the contents of the book dedicated to the Naag Pooja (serpent worshiping) and its significance and origin in Duggar culture. The book comprising of four chapters including Vedic literature of Nag’s, regeneration of Nag’s inVed, Puran, Mahabharata, Geeta, Ramayana, Brahmin Granth, and Aryank Granth beautifully and aptly discussed the related topic. Literary luminaries present in this book release ceremony were Dr CM Seth (director WWF), Surinder Gupta (ZRC), Dr. JB Singh Chowdhary, Dr. Rajinder Gupta, Dr.Ashok, Dr. Sushma, Kabal Singh Chambyal (Principal CMP-NUD), Sushma Devi, President Triveni Mahila Mandal Samba and some scholars from the various departments of the Jammu University.
