| DG BSF reviews security situation of Amarnath Yatra, LoC in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, June 25: Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Devendra Kumar Pathak (IPS) on his two day visit to Kashmir on Tuesday visited Panjtarni, Baltal and Holy Cave to review the Security arrangements along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes of Shri Amarnath JiYatra. During his visit DG BSF interacted with BSF officers deployed in state and their men wherein he was briefed by Commandants of deployed BSF Battalions about the arrangements made by BSF for Shri Amarnath Yatra commencing w.e.f 28 June 2014. The participating top cops were apprised that about 25 BSF Coys are being deployed this year on both the routes of Yatra viz. Baltal and Pahelgam route. Besides, this BSF also has established 10 Medical camps for providing medical assistance to the pilgrims, 15 dog squads and 01 Bomb disposal squad at vulnerable places for securing the Yatra routes," BSF sources said. Meanwhile DG BSF reviewed the security situation along the LoC in Kashmir including the anti- infiltration measures taken on ground. He was briefed about the prevailing security scenario along the LoC as well as in the hinterland by Inspector General BSF P S Sandhu, IPS. On 25 June 2014, DG- BSF visited Baramulla Sector BSF and was showcased anti- infiltration measures and preparedness of the BSF on LoC and Anti Infiltration role. While addressing the troops, he impressed upon maintaining alertness and vigilround the clock in view of forthcoming AmarnathYatra, State Assembly elections and deteriorating security situation in neighbourhood. |
