Early Times Report Kathua, June 25: To instill the essence of Sikhism among the young generation of Sikh community, week-long "Turban Binding" competition is being organized at Gurudwara near Mukharji Chowk Kathua.The competition has been organized under the supervision of Daljit Singh member of Gurudwara Prabandak Committee of District Kathua in collaboration with a Non-Governmental Organization "Lehar". While speaking to the media Daljit Singh said that to promote the Sikhism's values and culture this competition is being organized in which the Turban Binding will be an attritional and central event. He said the turban has been an important part of the Sikh religion since the time of the First Guru and among the Sikhs, the turban is an article of faith that represents honour, self-respect, courage, spirituality, and piety. |
