| Bandhs, hartals back in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 24 : After a long gap, the bandhs and hartals are back in Kashmir scaring the tourists and making them flee. It is now clear that after huge influx of tourists in Kashmir, some elements try to derail the tourism industry which is getting back on rails. Talking to this correspondent, Sunita Kumari, a domestic tourist said that from last three days she has not stepped out of hotel because of the prevailing situation. She was happy when she chose Kashmir over Shimla but now hoping that the normalcy should prevail here. Another tourist, who is visiting after 25 years hoped the situation will go normal by the passage of time. Many others who are in the valley from last 10 to 12 days said that it was perfect normalcy here and locals cooperated at every place whether in Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Mughal Gardens, or any other destination but from the last three days things are a bit disturbing. A houseboat owner said that by the grace of God everything will be normal and people should come here in large numbers. Amarnath Yatra is also commencing soon so hope for a nice tourist season ahead. People of Kashmir are known for their hospitality and will leave no stone unturned whatever may be the circumstances, he added. |
