Kathua, June 25 : Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) of Kathua has unearthed a food scandal of worth Rs 9 lakhs while inspecting the ration supply details of sale depot No.1 and 4 at Kathua here today. AS per the office statement, it is said that Raj Kumar as Incharge Salesman Govt sale Depot No.1 and 4 of Kathua has not remitted the cost of huge missing quantity of food grain and sugar into treasury for the period of five months from Jan 2014 to May 2014 at Kathua.
"Sugar and wheat flour supplied to the sale depots No.1 and 4 are found of shortage of 50 quintal and 39 quintal respectively, TSO informed local media persons. "The salesman Raj Kumar was directed so many times to deposit the amount but he failed to do so and as per the norms and rule of department, a strict action is being taken against the Raj Kumar," TSO said.
CA&PD Official also said that no mal-practice will be allowed by any CAPD employee and if anyone found guilty strict action will be taken against the culprit.
Meanwhile misappropriations of ration supply was also reported from Billawer of Kathua district where huge quantity of ration i.e. 1800 quintal Sugar and 6000 quintal wheat flour and rice allegedly went missing and it is still mystery for the CA&PD department.
As per the TSO Billawar the CAPD's contractors Bishan Dass, Samshu Din, Ramesh Kumar and Jagdish Kumar are given the responsibility for transportation of the ration items from Billawar's CAPD food store to far-off areas of the Billawar like Sadrota, Malhar, Badnota and Keently respectively.
"But the ration quota for 2012-13 is delivered/allotted for these said far-off areas through registered contractors reportedly was not transported to the areas and is expected to have been sent to black-market thus causing not only huge revenue loss to government but problems to the registered ration consumers.
Meanwhile when media person contacted AD Food & Supply, Kathua outrightly refused to accept the happening of any scam and scandalous practice in Billawar.
