| Kotdhara residents demonstrate against power cuts | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 25 : The inhabitants of Kotdhara -Rajouri town held a protest demonstration against officials of the Power Development Department (PDD) alleging that the department has very badly failed to supply electricity in their area even during power supply hours. Protestors said that that the official curtailment of electricity is for 8 hours in a day, but the department has been providing electricity not for more than 6 hours and that too very at low voltage resulting into damage to electrical gadgets of people.Protesters alleged that they are facing various problems in the absence of electricity during scorching heat during ensuing summer months. Among protestors Anwar Hussain and Nazir Ahmed said their area is facing unscheduled power cuts ranging between 6-8 hours a day for the last few months and matter has been taken up with the district administration as well as with the concerned PDD officers. "But nothing has been done in this matter till today and people were forced to come out on the roads, they lamented.Ramesh Kumar, AEE, PDD while talking with some reporters, that soon the power will be restored in the area as per scheduled power curtailment |
