| SSJAC holds protest against VC JU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 25: Student Scholar Joint Action Committee (SSJAC) today held strong protest in the JU against the Vice Chancellor Prof. MPS Ishar for allegedly providing wrong information in RTI and mishandling the academics and administration in the Jammu University.
During protest, members of SSJAC alleged that the Vice Chancellor is working under the influence of some political leaders to appoint some blue eyed student leaders in the university as Assistant Professor and Assistant Registrar. Hitting out at VC JU, Lovedeep Singh Mankotia said that the highhandedness of the JU authority can be gauged from the fact that, it removed some heads of the department just only to materialize their vested interests. Some Directors and Rectors of the offsite campuses (Poonch & Patnitop) are overstayed while the some are removed without any reason. The university council has approved two years tenure for the Rector and Director whereas the present incumbent are over stayed because of the favoritism policy of the VC, he alleged.
The Vice Chancellor is now appeasing the Political leaders of the J&K so that he may get extension.
SSJAC appealed to the Governor who is also the Chancellor of the University to stop all the appointment in the University in administration as well as in the teaching department so that pre planned appointment should be stopped till the new Vice Chancellor take over in the JU. |
