| PDP workers hold protest against candidature of Qamar | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 26: District workers of People Democratic Party (PDP) today held a protest demonstration at Rajouri to express their resentment against the candidature of Qamar Choudhary in coming assembly election and has urged upon the party high command to reconsider the decision. They said that Shahzad Khan is more senior leader and all these years has worked day in and out for the welfare of the people but unfortunately he has been ignored by the high command for Assembly election candidature. They said that Shahzad Khan is more closely associated to the people as he has been in mass contact for the last many years. Moreover, they said that Qamar has no stand as he had already changed a number of parties earlier and now has come to PDP to try his hand. The members said that PDP stands for democracy and welfare of the people but it is unfortunate that it took a monopolistic decision when it came to give mandate to the candidate for Assembly elections thereby not consulting the ground workers and loyalists of the party. Besides, they said that the High command also needs to take the confidence and suggestions of the ground level workers. They said that they will not campaign for any other candidate who has no stand. They said that the only candidate who will work unflinchingly and unconditionally for the welfare and development of the people is Shahzad Khan and have urged the party high command to reconsider its decision. |
