| CSC Association protests against Govt | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 26 : Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) CSC Association today protested against the government and other agencies involved with the e-governance plan in Jammu and Kashmir. More than 50, Khidmat Centre Owners (VLEs) from all parts of the State assembled outside Press Club and raised slogans in favour of their demands. While speaking, president of the association said that they were selected and rolled out by the SCA (J&K Bank) four years back as front end delivery points for the National e-Governance Scheme (NeGS). "We were promised that Government services like electricity bill collection service will be made available at Khidmat centres thus creating an efficient, transparent and corruption free environment in the State. "Our business is running into losses and we are unable to pay rents and other dues", he said, adding that they were not provided any GAP Support as the same is being disbursed by Government of India."We made representations to Chief Minister last year and in the same context a core committee was framed to put forward recommendations", he said. He said that immediate demands like transfer of electricity bill collection and disbursement of GAP support with retrospective effect as promised by the Government should be fulfilled, otherwise the association will start State level indefinite protest against the Government. |
