| Unemployed ITI (Electrician) diploma holders stage protest rally | | |
Jammu April 23 On the eleventh day of the protest the unemployed ITI trained electricians under the banner of Unemployed ITI (Electricians) Diploma Holders Association staged a protest rally against the delaying and overlooking attitude towards their genuine problem. The ralliests demanded early absorption in the government jobs on the pattern of the Rehber-e-Taleem. The protestors holding placards and banners in support of their demands marched from the venue of the protest-the Office of the Divisional Commissioner Jammu. Raising slogans in support of their demand the protestors marched from the various main markets in an effort to create awareness among the people about their problems in the absence of the employment for the last decade despite they being trained in particular trade. Addressing the protestors Sunil Gandotra president of the association and Rakesh representative of unemployed (ITI Trained Electricians) from Jammu highlighted their issues and appealed the chief minister to intervene the matter for early redressal. Speakers highlighted that many trained technicians are standing on the verge of the upper age limit for the selection of government job while many have attained it. Further they demanded relaxation to those all who are on the verge of upper age limit or have attained it and also asked the government that many posts of electricians are lying vacant in PDD Department and should be filled by the unemployed trained electricians. They also condemned the attitude of authorities as even after the eleven days long protest by the protestor no representative from the concerned department and ministry has visited them. Thereafter the protest rally after passing through various markets of the walled city culminated at the protest venue at Mubarak Mandi Jammu.
