| HC issued bailable warrants against commissioner/Secretary Transport | | |
JAMMU, APRIL 23, Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru chief Justice (Acting) of J&K High court Jammu wing in a contempt petition issued bailable warrants against Commissioner/Secretary Transport Department to the tune of Rs 3000/- for procuring his presence in the court. Justice Nisar Ahmed Kakru chief Justice (Acting) after hearing Advocate Arti Anand appearing for the petitioner Romesh Kumar observed that on May 2, 2006 the Court granted last opportunity to Mr. BS Salathia Additional Advocate General for four weeks for filling the supplementary affidavit failing which Commissioner/Secretary to Government Transport Department shall appear in person. Neither supplementary affidavit filed nor commissioner/ secretary transport has appeared, so much so non-appearance, leaving no option for the Court but to resort to coercive mode and issued direction for procuring the attendance of the Commissioner/secretary Transport through bailable warrants in an amount of Rs 3000/- for a date to be fixed by the Registry. |
